Isaiah tells the gravely ill King Hezekiah that he will die, but Hezekiah prays and weeps, and the LORD adds fifteen years, turning back the sun's shadow as a sign. Hezekiah later writes a poem recalling his despair and praising God for healing and forgiving him, and Isaiah's fig remedy is noted.
