Psalms 44: A Lament of Faithful Israel in Defeat

A Korahite psalm recalls how God, not Israel's weapons, gave their ancestors the land, and it confesses trust in Him alone. It then laments a crushing defeat and public shame that came though the people stayed loyal to Him, and it pleads for God to rise and redeem them for the sake of His covenant love.
