1 Samuel 16: Samuel Anoints David
The LORD sends Samuel to Bethlehem to anoint a new king from Jesse's sons, teaching that God looks within rather than at outward looks. Samuel anoints the youngest, David, and the Spirit comes on him. As a tormenting spirit from the LORD afflicts Saul, David enters Saul's court as his harpist.
