God leaves nations in Canaan to test Israel, who intermarry with them and worship their gods. Othniel, empowered by the Spirit, frees Israel from Cushan-rishathaim; the left-handed Ehud kills Moab’s king Eglon and leads Israel to victory; and Shamgar kills Philistines using an oxgoad.
