Judges 6: Gideon Called to Deliver Israel

Midian ravages Israel for seven years, and when the people plead for help God first sends a prophet to rebuke their disobedience. The LORD’s angel then calls the fearful Gideon to rescue Israel; Gideon destroys his father’s Baal altar, earns the name Jerubbaal, and receives two signs with a fleece.
