Isaiah 31: Egypt Is Mortal and the LORD Defends Zion

Isaiah warns those who rely on Egypt’s horses and chariots, since the Egyptians are only human and will fall together with those they help. Like a fearless lion and like birds circling above, the LORD will defend Jerusalem; Israel is called to return and abandon idols, and Assyria will fall without any human sword.
