Ezekiel 17: The Two Eagles and the Cedar
God gives Ezekiel a riddle of two great eagles, a cedar whose top is carried off, and a low vine that reaches toward the second eagle. He explains it as Babylon humbling Jerusalem’s rulers and a king breaking his sworn covenant by seeking help from Egypt, then promises to plant a shoot that becomes a great cedar.
