Psalms 51: David's Prayer of Repentance

David pleads for mercy after the prophet Nathan confronts him over his sin with Bathsheba. He confesses his guilt before God and his sinfulness from birth, asks God to wash him and renew his heart, offers a humble, repentant spirit, and prays for Jerusalem to be built up so right offerings may follow.
