Jeremiah 44: Idolatry Among the Jews in Egypt
The LORD reminds the Jews in Egypt that Judah fell for idolatry and warns that their idol worship there will ruin them. The people defiantly vow to keep honoring the Queen of Heaven, claiming they prospered while doing so. Jeremiah answers that this worship caused the disaster and names Pharaoh Hophra’s fall as a sign.
