Jeremiah 34: Freed Slaves Taken Back
During the Babylonian siege, the LORD tells King Zedekiah that Jerusalem will be burned and he will be taken to Babylon, though he will die peacefully. The people free their Hebrew slaves by covenant, then reclaim them, so God sentences them to war, disease and famine and vows to bring Babylon’s army back.
