Jeremiah 40: Jeremiah Freed and Gedaliah Governs
Nebuzaradan, the Babylonian captain, frees Jeremiah and says the LORD brought ruin on Judah for its sin. Jeremiah stays with Gedaliah at Mizpah, who urges the survivors to serve Babylon and gather the harvest. Gedaliah then dismisses Johanan’s warning that Ishmael son of Nethaniah plans to kill him.
