Jeremiah warns the royal house to practice justice or see the palace ruined. He announces that Shallum will die in exile, condemns Jehoiakim for building his palace with unpaid labor unlike his just father Josiah, and declares that Coniah will be cast off to Babylon with no heir ruling after him.
