Jeremiah 20: Jeremiah in the Stocks and His Lament
The priest Pashhur has Jeremiah beaten and held in the stocks, and Jeremiah gives him a new name and foretells his exile to Babylon. Jeremiah then pours out a bitter complaint about mockery, the word burning within him, his trust in the LORD, and grief over his birth.
