Isaiah 9: The Promised Child and Israel's Pride
Light dawns on Galilee, and Isaiah announces a royal child who will be called Mighty God and reign forever on David's throne with justice and peace. The chapter then turns to the northern kingdom, whose pride, misleading leaders and spreading wickedness bring repeated judgment because the people refuse to turn back.
