Matthew 28: The Resurrection and the Great Commission
On the first day of the week, an angel tells the women that Jesus has risen, and they meet the risen Lord. The guards are bribed to spread a lie, and Jesus sends his disciples to make disciples of all nations, promising to be with them always.

Mark 16: The Empty Tomb and the Great Commission
At dawn after the Sabbath, women find the stone rolled away, and a young man in white tells them Jesus has risen and will meet his disciples in Galilee. The longer ending then records his appearances, the Great Commission to preach to all creation, and his ascension to God's right hand.

Luke 24: The Road to Emmaus and the Ascension
Women find the tomb empty and angels announce the resurrection. The risen Jesus explains the Scriptures to two disciples on the road to Emmaus, appears to the apostles, opens their minds to understand, and ascends to heaven while blessing them.

John 20: The Empty Tomb and Thomas
Mary Magdalene finds the tomb empty, and Peter and the beloved disciple see the linen cloths. Jesus appears to Mary, then to the disciples, breathing on them the Holy Spirit. Thomas doubts until he sees him and confesses Jesus as his Lord and God.

John 21: Breakfast by the Sea and Peter Restored
The risen Jesus appears to seven disciples by the Sea of Galilee and gives them a miraculous catch of fish. Over breakfast, he three times asks Peter whether he loves him, commissions him to feed his sheep, and foretells how Peter will die.

1 Corinthians 15: The Resurrection
Paul restates the gospel that Christ died for sins, was buried, and was raised, then lists the witnesses to the risen Christ. If Christ is not raised faith is futile, but he is the firstfruits, and believers will be raised with imperishable bodies as death is finally defeated.
