Nehemiah 8: Ezra Reads the Law
The people assemble at the Water Gate and ask Ezra to read the Law of Moses aloud, and he reads from early morning to midday while Levites explain its meaning. When the crowd weeps, the leaders tell them to feast and rejoice instead, and they then keep the Feast of Booths with great joy.
